On to Middle School

Jonah is finished with Elementary School.  He is a little sad about that.  He is nervous about the unknown of Middle School.  He is a social kid and loves school, especially the social aspect.
Here are all of the 6th graders at Lakeveiw Elementary 2019.
The school puts pictures up on Facebook sometimes.  This is a picture of Jonah at his student of the week lunch.
Here he is in class working on a project.  The girl next to him is Lauren.  Jonah and Lauren like each other.  They text a lot.  He hid it from me at first so I'm trying to help him feel more comfortable talking to me.  I helped him pick out a birthday present for her and drop it off at her house.  He was so relieved they weren't home because he was so nervous!  She lives in our stake and I know her parents a little, she is a nice girl.
We had a new principal at the school this year.  He wanted to start a new tradition and have a 6th grade graduation ceremony.  It was really well done.  He spoke and they had the Vice Principal from the Middle School come and speak.  They both did a great job.  They both said things that were really good for the kids to hear and they did a good job of making it interesting for the kids.
They read everyone's name and their teacher put a lei on them and then they got a certificate from the Vice Principal.
It doesn't seem like that long ago that Jonah started Kindergarten.  Time is going so fast.
Jonah did not want me to take pictures after.  He is sure I am the only mom that takes pictures.  Obviously, I ignored him and took pictures anyway.
I tried to hurry so I didn't embarrass him too much.
Angie sent me this picture.  Of course Jonah was fine to let her take pictures of him!  I'm so glad Jonah has such a good group of friends.   It was a fun way to celebrate the end of Elementary School.

That sounds like a great graduation for the 6th graders! It is wonderful that Jonah has such a great group of friends at his school and that should help with the transition to middle school. Wonderful pictures as awlays!
