I think I'm reaching the end of my rope as we approach the end of summer vacation. We are all going a little stir crazy from the heat. The kids are fighting a lot and I think we are all ready for the structure and routine that school brings, not to mention the time away from each other! I've tried to have some structure and consistency this summer, but it's been hit and miss.
On Friday Mel and her kids and mom and Dante drove down and met us at Fat Cats for bowling. It was a great activity to beat the summer heat! Wyatt wants me to write that he won the game on his lane. He had a great game, so did Caitlyn and Jonah.
It's fun to have an activity that the adults and kids can enjoy!
Hallee and Tessa always want their picture taken!
After bowling we went up to South Fork. We ate the lunches we had packed when we got there. I figured it would be crazy hot, but it was pleasant in the shade. It was cooler up there than in the valley.
Tiff brought a big bin of outdoor games. The boys had a great time playing Spike Ball.
Wyatt and Hallee had fun in the water with Tiff's kids.
We stood in the water for a while and watched the kids play. I loved seeing them explore and play in the water.
The water was freezing so the kids would "get stuck" on the rock until they were ready to brave the cold water again.
Hallee wanted to show me this garden that she found. Hallee and Tessa planted things in there. I'm glad she picked up my gardening skills!
I love, love, love watching the older cousins play with my kids. I'm soaking up every minute with EJ before he leaves for boot camp. We are all going to miss him. He has a great ability to make everyone feel important and loved.
Halle, Tessa and Damon wanted to tie their towels around their neck so they could play super hero's. I love this picture. It captures summer perfectly, kids running carefree and playing with the beautiful mountains as their back drop.
