On Wednesday we went to Murray Park to take Elijah's senior pictures. When we were finished Wyatt was playing with Elijah and he threw a stick at him so Elijah started chasing him with the football to get him back. Wyatt started yelling, "social distancing, social distancing!!" It was so funny.
Elijah got him back!
Mel asked me to take Elijah's senior pictures. I love taking my family's picture, but I always worry they won't be good enough. We had so much fun taking them and I think they turned out really well.
Elijah is such a good looking guy. He is also smart, hard working, spiritual, kind, athletic, hilarious and a great leader and role model. It really stinks that his senior year was cut short, his track season was canceled and he has to miss out on all of the things he was looking forward to and worked so hard for like graduation and prom. I get frustrated when people keep saying that the seniors should be fine and not be disappointed because at least they aren't being called off to war. What? Why would we want to teach them that it's wrong to feel sad and disappointed and that their feelings don't matter because someone has it worse. I don't agree with that way of thinking, we have to feel our feelings and know that they are valid. We need to feel sad and disappointed, if we just push those feelings away and try to be positive immediately and all of the time, the emotions we pushed down will show up again, probably in anger and anxiety. It's okay to feel negative feelings, we are supposed to, that is part of the human experience.
Elijah kept making us laugh. We struggled with figuring out where to put hands and how to pose.
Lindy joined us and we took her pictures too. She sure is a beauty!
I told her to put her legs up and then said put your arm up, nailed it! We had so much fun laughing while trying to figure out how they should pose.
Lindy is amazing. I loved having her stay with us this past week. She is so kind, helpful, generous, wise, hard working, ambitious, spiritual and hilarious! She was not sad about her senior year being cut short. She is excited and ready to start at BYU in the Fall. I'm so excited that she will be so close.
Those are some good looking seniors.
I love being with my family because I love to laugh and we do a lot of laughing.
It is so hard to believe that two of Mel's boys are adults now. I have learned so much about being a good mom from her. She loves her kids and is so good at spending time and connecting with them.
I love being an aunt. It has been so much fun to watch my nieces and nephews grow up and spend so much time with them.
While we were taking pictures the girls played games and kept their eye on Hallee.
Jacob and Jonah kept their eye on Wyatt. They had fun climbing trees. They also had fun racing.
I love being outside with the kids.
They rolled down hills.
Hallee wanted to show me how she could climb a tree.
Wyatt climbed up really high in a pine tree.
After Murray Park we went to mom and dad's for dinner. They were excited to see Lindy and Jacob.
The boys had fun playing video games and we all had fun playing scum.
