Life Lately

Saturday was the boys regional track meet.  It was so hot and so long!  We were there for 5 hours!
The boys did awesome.  They worked so hard.  Jonah qualified for state in the high jump, he got second place and in the 4X100 relay, his team took first.  Unfortunately the state meet is next week while he is at EFY, so I'm not sure how that is going to work out.  I think we will check him out, at least for the relay since his team is counting on him.
Wyatt had his personal best in the long jump and did awesome in the 100, 200 and 400.  I was so proud of him for doing the 400 in that heat.  The 200 is the last event and even though I was secretly hoping he would want to come home before that, I was so proud of him for sticking it out and doing the event even thought it meant he had to wait around in the heat. We made a little shade tent out of umbrellas for him while he was waiting for his races.
Saturday night Caitlyn went with Mel and the girls to see Tarzan.  After the five hour track meet, I was ready to be home!
Sunday Keith and I celebrated our 18th anniversary. Keith gave me these beautiful roses.  We watched a movie at home and got take-out.  It took us two nights to watch the movie because of interruptions and because I fell asleep, that seems about right for 18 years!
I went visiting Sunday morning and when I came home I found the kids laughing hysterically and having a blast with Keith.  It's so great to have him home on Sunday.
Hallee was a rapper!
This was our first week back at church for both hours.  We all enjoyed being back.  Hallee was so excited to go back to primary.  I subbed in primary so I got to see Wyatt and Hallee in singing time. Wyatt seemed to enjoy it too.  After church we all watched our wedding video.  It was fun to reminisce.  It seems so long ago and not that long ago at the same time.
On Monday Lori and Elena flew in so the girls could go to EFY.  We grabbed some lunch and then took the girls to BYU to get them checked in.  They weren't planning on doing EFY anymore because the church is doing EFY conferences each summer now, but that was canceled this year because of Covid so they recently decided to do EFY since things are opening back up.  I called Lori to see if Elena would want to go and we signed them up and Cody and Jonah for next week.  I'm so excited for my kids to have this experience.
We helped the girls get settled in their room.  They were both so excited and a little nervous.
We took a quick selfie and then Lori and I left.  I've talked to Caitlyn a couple of times and they are having a great time.  I can't wait to hear all about it!
It was fun to visit with Lori yesterday.  Tiff and the kids came over for dinner.  It was fun to visit with Tiff and Lori while the kids played.  I love hearing the kids laughing together.
Keith and I played Suspend with Hallee last night.  We got all the pieces on there without it falling.
I haven't been sleeping well and I have been waking up early.  It is nice to be up early so we can beat the heat though.  This morning I took Hallee and Wyatt to a new park in Provo. It was really cool.  They had a few water tables.
Hallee and Wyatt loved the zip lines.
The kids were grumpy this morning, but getting out cheered them both up.
Lori left this morning to spend some time with her mom and her sisters.  Jonah has been going to open gym every morning with the basketball team at Provo High.  He is hoping to make the team next year, so this is a good way to practice and have the coaches get to know him.  He is there for almost three hours every morning.  I admire his dedication and willingness to get up early and work hard.

Great post as always! It was fun seeing the pictures! I’m proud of the boys and how well they did! Also that they hung in there in the heat! Happy anniversary and I’m sorry I didn’t text you that message on the day. Beautiful roses! I hope you can start sleeping better.
