Wrapping Up School

Jonah came to us and asked if he and his friends could skip math one day because he was finished with his end of the year testing, but they had another day to work on it.  Keith and I were pleased that he asked us and said it would be okay, but that we wouldn't excuse it so he could get consequences from the school.  He said it was worth the risk, typical Jonah.  They walked to Maverick and bought treats and then came back to catch the bus home.  He said it was so fun!
On the last week of school these boys asked if they could miss field day and hang out at Kyle's instead.  Ben was so nice and cooked them all breakfast and even sent us pictures! They had a blast playing air soft and video games.
Kiersten wanted to take some pictures on the last day of school so Alexa, Alisha, Kiersten and Caitlyn went to the park and had fun taking pictures.  I think they were all pretty excited that school is out!
I love these pictures that she took of Caitlyn.
Later that night Emma had a bunch of girls from the tennis team over and they all hung out.  Caitlyn had a great time.
Jonah went to his friend Ava's house with a big group from school.  Apparently they had a girls night and had the boys join in.  They painted their nails and they all did face masks. Caitlyn and her friends went to Westridge Elementary to play Laser Tag and they ran into Jonah and his friends who were there playing night games.
Sometimes we worry about Jonah hanging out at girls houses that we don't know.  He really has a great group of friends, so I don't worry too much.  We were happy to hear that Ava is Corbin Mercer's niece.  He told Keith he was over there and saw the boys at her house.  It was great to find out Ava comes from a good family because that seems to be the hang out house.
Wyatt had kids business day at school where the kids get to spend their school money that they have earned.  Wyatt and Eddie wanted to sell soda.  Emily works at the school so she sent me this picture.
She also got a picture of them on field day.  All of the kids are excited for summer.  Hallee and Wyatt are really sad about leaving their teachers.  Wyatt didn't like Mrs. Wing at the beginning of the year, but he said she is his favorite teacher now.
I have to write something really cool down.  I posted this picture before, but this is Jonah and his friends playing basketball in Mr. Dayley's room before school.  Jonah didn't have Mr. Dayley, but his friends did and they all loved him and Jonah loved to hang out in his room and play basketball.  Paul just helped Mr. Dayley close on a house and since he teaches at Dixon he asked if he knew Jonah.  He told him that he did and they talked about him a little.  It turns out that Paul taught Mr. Dayley (which is why he looks so young ). Jonah thought that was cool and went to school and asked Mr. Dayley about Paul.  He said, "Mr. Barth is my idol, he is the reason I wanted to be a teacher."  He told Jonah that Paul used to have a basketball hoop in his room and that is why he has one.  I thought this was so cool because I have always wished that my kids could have Paul as a teacher.  I knew he was a fantastic teacher and this just shows how much influence a good teacher can have. My kids can't have Paul as a teacher, but how cool is it that they are still being influenced by Paul's teaching.  It's pretty cool that Paul's students are going on to be good influences in my kids lives! Even better, Mr. Dayley is moving to Provo High next year, so hopefully my kids will get to be in his class.

That's great that Jonah asked about skipping math instead of just doing it and so cool that Paul taught the teacher at Dixon who is influencing Jonah and will be at the high school next year!! You just never know! Great pictures of the kids on the last day of school and I'm surprised that the boys even went in for nail painting and facials but the picture was great. I loved the pictures of Caitlyn also! Summer is here isn't it?

I love that Jonah has gotten to know Mr Dayley. I hope your kids get to have him for a teacher. I always love hearing about the positive influence Paul has had on his students. Those pictures of Caitlyn really capture her beauty!
