Rocky Point Mexico

Thursday morning we got up early and left for Rocky Point.  It takes a little over three hours to get there from Matt and Lori's house.  We were a little nervous about crossing the border. Matt has heard horror stories about being stopped and having your stuff searched.  It really is such a privilege to live in the United States of America, it was so fun to visit another country, but I felt a sense of relief when we were back in America!  They just waved us right through at the border so that was a relief.
We got to the complex and parked and got a couple of carts so we were able to get all our stuff up in one trip.  When we came in we went right to the balcony to check it out.  Hallee and Wyatt loved hanging out on the balcony, especially first thing in the morning when it was cooler.
The view from the balcony is amazing!  This is the view to the right.
And here is the view to the left.  The pool is massive!
The condo is so nice.  It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and this giant living room with huge windows to enjoy the view.  All the teenagers slept out here in the living room.  Hallee and Wyatt slept in our room with us. The whole place has tile flooring, which is great for coming and going from the beach and the pool.
To get to the beach and pool you take an elevator down and then there is a short tunnel that you walk through and when you walk out of the tunnel this is what you see!  It is amazing and breath taking!  Every time I walk out of the tunnel I'm amazed with this view!
After we unloaded and unpacked a little we were all anxious to get down to the pool and the beach.  We all headed down to the pool first.  Matt gave us the tour and showed us where everything was.
It was crazy hot in Mexico.  The temperature wasn't as high as it was in Arizona, but with the humidity it felt so much hotter!  As long as you are in the water it isn't bad.  The pool does get pretty warm, but in the morning and the evening it is the perfect temperature.
This pool is genius and my favorite part.  There is a bench along the edge so you can sit or kneel and just stare at the ocean!
This place is unique because each condo is privately owned and they aren't allowed to rent them out, except for long term rentals.  Matt rented it for seven months because there are no short term rental options.  Because of that it is never crowded! Most of the time we had the pool and the beach almost to ourselves.  The pool is so huge that you can have quite a few people in there and still have your own space, but most of the time there are only a handful of people in the pool.  There are rental complexes on both sides and their beach area was always packed, but we had plenty of our own space on our beach!
Keith is such a fun dad.  He always gets right in and plays with the kids in the pool.  He had fun playing keep away with Cody and Jonah.  The kids also had fun with the diving toys in the pool.
Hallee always stayed in pool the longest.  She could swim all day.
It was so much fun to be in my happy place with my family!
Isn't that pool amazing?  I spent hours in the pool every day just watching the ocean.
The kids were all anxious to go down to the beach, so after we swam for a little while we headed down.  At the end of the pool there are a few stairs and then a gate that you have to unlock to get down to the beach.
The water was warm and perfect to play in.
It was so great to be able to walk right into the warm water.
Hallee was in her happy place too!
I spent the first little bit just taking pictures and watching them all have so much fun.
Wyatt loved riding the waves in the tube.
It is a little hard to have salt water in your mouth and eyes, but totally worth it!
I could have taken pictures of Hallee all day, she was having so much fun running in and out of the water and jumping into the waves.
Hallee got a little nervous about getting too far out in the ocean.  We saw some jelly fish so we were all a little worried about getting stung.  I think we said too much in front of Hallee and she got nervous if she felt anything under the water.
Lori bought this skimmer board for this trip.  Cody and Wyatt loved it.  They both picked it up really quickly.
Cody was so good on the skim board.  You can see our condos behind Cody.  There are two buildings and the pool and the beach are right below them.
Wyatt was a natural on the skim board, he loved it!  Matt and Lori were saying they were surprised there was so much seaweed on the beach because they hadn't seen that before.  One morning I looked down from the balcony and saw the employees cleaning up the seaweed, now that is service!
Wyatt couldn't wait to get down to the beach and use the skim board every day.
Hallee knows how to enjoy a beach day!
We played in the ocean for a few hours and enjoyed every minute of it.
The kids had a lot of fun looking for shells.  They have a ton of awesome shells on the beach.  Wyatt found a heart shape shell and said he wanted to take it home to Aunt Tiff because he knows she collects heart rocks.  He is such a sweet kid.
We finally decided we better head back up because it was getting late and we were getting hungry.  Lori is so sweet and went up and got dinner ready for us.
After showers and dinner everyone was ready to play Coup!  We also watched Relative Race every night.  Caitlyn loves that show and told Matt about it while we were in Arizona.  She was so excited that we all loved it and we ended up watching two seasons during our trip.
We finished off the night with a gorgeous sunset.
I think I took a picture of the sunset every night.  It was just so beautiful!
We were all exhausted after playing so hard at the beach and the pool.  It was so exciting to know we had four more days to enjoy this paradise!
