Birthday Boy

Jonah's birthday was last Friday. He gets out at noon on Friday's so he was able to go to lunch with his friends. Sawyer's sister dropped off this basket for him because Sawyer was out of town.
Jonah is not an easy one to shop for.  He told me he wanted some clothes for his birthday. I'm always nervous to pick clothes out for him, but I did my best.
Half of what I bought him worked for him, so that's pretty good.
Birthdays are always a little awkward for Jonah and I think we have figured out that he hates things that are expected.  He hates doing things out of obligation.  He doesn't like people watching him open presents or the pressure he feels to react to the presents.  When he told me that, it all made more sense to me.  I love giving gifts and watching people reactions, so I can see how that would be hard for him.
He also doesn't like to plan things, he likes them to happen more organically.
I think he was happy with his presents.
After he opened his presents he played video games with friends and was able to get a short nap before he had to go over to the school for his football game.
Having a football game on his birthday was perfect for him.  Every time I look at the field I can't get over the beauty of the mountains. Especially with all of their Fall colors right now.
Jaimy and her boyfriend, Michael drove up for Jonah's game.  She made a sign for Jonah and everything, it was so sweet.
One of the coaches sons likes to kick with Jonah. It was cute to look down and see Jonah talking to him and showing how to line up his kick on the sideline during the game.
We saw a lot of this that night.  Jonah was six for six on his kicks that night. They had a great game and won big.
They presented the team the trophy for being the regional champions that night.  Jonah is so excited for play offs, they have a great chance of going all the way.
Jaimy was excited to tell Jonah good job after the game.
I'm so glad they had such a great game for Jonah's birthday.  He had fun celebrating with his friends by going out to eat after the game.
On Sunday we went to my parents to celebrate the October birthdays.
I think Jonah had a great birthday and I hope this year will be a great one for him.
