Jonah's Graduation

May 21, 2025 Jonah graduated from High School.  They held his graduation at UVU.
I could see Jonah on his phone during the graduation, so I texted him and told him to get off his phone.  He replied with this picture.
Jonah saw us in the crowd and posed so I could get some pictures.
James' mom spoke because she is on the school board. Jonah told us on the way there that they all told her to say, "Imagine if ninja got a low taper fade."  We all told him there was no way she would say it.  Sure enough she said it.  That captures Jonah High School experience well.  He and his friends enjoyed it and paved their own way and followed the rules just enough to get by.
Jonah told us he had something special planned for when he walked on stage. I told him to keep his clothes on and no back flips. He just did a little dancing, it was perfect.
I just kept taking picture of him during the ceremony. I can't believe my handsome boy is all grown up.
We loved having dad there with us and I was glad he got a little nap. I nudged him awake so he got to see Jonah walk!
Oliver sat behind Jonah and they kept talking and laughing while the names were being read.
The graduation was long, two hours!  After we went outside for pictures.  The sun was setting so the lighting was terrible.
We loved having grandpa there.
Sawyer came with us.  She is so easy to have around, we all really like her.
There were a lot of days that I worried about Jonah graduating, but he assured me he had it under control.  I was sure happy to see that diploma! He really was a good student, he just didn't stress going to class or due dates, but he always pulled out good grades in the end.
Half of our kids are graduated from High School.
I really wish we would have had better lighting, oh well.
Mr. Dayley wanted a picture with Jonah.  It is my favorite thing that Paul taught Mr. Dayley and then he taught Jonah. Mr. Dayley told us that Paul is the reason he went into teaching. I'm so grateful for good teachers.
For once Jonah wanted pictures.  He wanted lots of pictures with his friends.
I'm amazed at how a big group of friends stayed so close through out high school.
Christian was his day one friend in Provo.
So was Kyle, they have stayed very close through the years.
Milo, Kyle, Jonah and Colston.
I think this is most of the group that went on the senior trip together.
Colston, Milo, Jonah, Kyle, James and Maddox.
Here they are doing a Chipotle cheer.  They ate at Chipotle a lot!
Maddox has been a great friend to Jonah.  Maddox used to play video games online with Cody and Jonah. Maddox was there for Jonah when he was really struggling after Cody left.  He has also been a great influence on Jonah.
Way to go Jonah!
I had this great plan to go to Costa Vida for dinner because I had gift cards.  Luckily Caitlyn checked the time because they closed at 9 PM and we didn't leave UVU until after 9. We decided to go to Cafe Rio instead.

The restaurant was freezing.  Poor dad was so uncomfortable.
We went outside because it was warmer out there.  They were so slow making our dinner.  We didn't get our food until almost 10 PM.
Keith went and got dad a blanket from the car.  Even though it didn't go as planned, it was great to have that time together and laugh and visit.  It was such a good night!
