Last Tuesday we rented a U-Haul and loaded up the rest of our belongings and put them in a storage shed next to our new house and moved in with Tiff and Paul. Tuesday night was rough. We had a lot more stuff than I thought we did and it took a long time to get it loaded in the truck. After that we had a hard time finding our storage shed and it turned into a long, stressful night. Tiff was great and kept Wyatt all day, that helped so much! We also appreciate all of the people who helped us load and unload. I'm so grateful for all of the help we received.
On Wednesday morning, I dropped the kids off at school and spent the rest of the day cleaning the house until it was time to go back and pick them up. I couldn't believe that we still had stuff in the house. It was just odds and ends that were left, but it was a lot more than we were planning on. It took me the next few days to finish getting everything out of the house by taking a load to DI and taking some loads down to Tiff's. Hallee and Wyatt would hang out with me and watch TV while I worked. It was a relief when the house was finally empty. It was also a little emotional, I'm going to miss this house.
Friday afternoon I locked the house up and drove away for the last time. Nugget drive has been good to us. I will miss this house and all of the memories that we made here. Today we signed on the sale of the home (finally), but we found out that the buyers haven't signed yet. They are supposed to sign tomorrow morning. I really hope they do because it is getting down to the wire and stressing me out! We have the go ahead to close on our new home on Thursday, which means it will be ours on Friday. It will be wonderful to be able to move in over the weekend. I'm still holding my breath until our buyers sign and it funds, but hopefully that will be done tomorrow.
Tiff and Paul have a great house and a great set up for us to stay with them. We have the basement all to ourselves. There are two big bedrooms down here. The three older kids are in one room. We have all three of their mattresses in there and there is still room for their clothes and some toys. Keith and I are in the other bedroom and Hallee is on the floor with us. I can't say enough how grateful we are for them taking us in.
We weren't here much last week because I was busy finishing up at the house and getting things taken care of to switch the kids' school. Saturday we were here all day. The kids had a great time playing together. My kids love playing with Tiff's kids. The weekend didn't go like I had planned it. I ended up being really sick. I spent Saturday and Sunday in bed and I'm still not feeling great today. I have been trying to stay in my room so I'm not getting anyone sick. Tessa came down with a cold today, I feel awful. Being sick is not how I planned on spending my time at Tiff's. I was hoping we could party every night!
Caitlyn loves playing with Tessa. They have had fun playing with Caitlyn's beanie boos.
Jonah had a fever last week so he has been taking it easy too. Look at that kid, what a cutie!
Caitlyn was nervous about starting her new school today. She has gone through all sorts of emotions about switching schools. There have been a lot of tears. She gets so attached to people, I knew it would be hard for her. She seems to be more attached to the staff at Diamond Ridge than the students. She keeps telling me how much she will miss the librarian (she has been shelving with her for over a year now). We gave the kids new back packs as a little gift for their first day of school. They were both excited about it.
This morning Tiff kept the little two home while I took Caitlyn and Jonah to their new school. They sure looked cute. The principal came and met us and gave us a little tour and took us to meet their teachers. I was really impressed with the principal and the teachers. It was a little tough to communicate because I have no voice today. I met both of their teachers and then went home praying that they would have a good day. Jonah came out of school with a huge smile on his face. I was so happy to see that. He said he loved school, he made a friend, he loves his teacher, the lunch is better than his old school and they get longer recesses! Jonah had a great day! Caitlyn had a good day also, she made some friends and liked her teacher. She is still having a hard time missing her old school and friends, but today went really well for her. I'm so grateful that they had such a good day.
It has been so fun to be here with Tiff and Paul and their family. The kids are so cute! I got a new camera the other day and I have had fun trying it out.
I could watch Damon all day. It is killing me that I can't hold him. I don't even dare get close too him since I have been so sick. I love to look at him and see that cute smile.
