I have been driving by the Provo River Parkway by our house for a couple of months now, dreaming of when it would be warm enough to try it out. We finally went yesterday. Keith has been in Virginia for work for a couple of days. Yesterday I knew we all needed to get out and burn some energy before bedtime so we went to the parkway right after our early dinner.
The kids were so excited. Everyone brought something to ride and they were thrilled to see a tunnel right when we got there. They had fun riding through the tunnel over and over.
Caitlyn decided to leave her rip stick in the car and be in charge of Jackson instead. It was a rough job because there were a ton of dogs on the trail and Jackson went crazy every time he saw a dog. He would try and run over to the dog and bark like crazy. I think next time we will leave Jackson home!
We rode down the trail for a little while until we found a good spot to throw rocks in the water. The kids had fun with that for a while.
Caitlyn could see a tire swing down the way and she couldn't wait to go try it out. They had this tied to a tree, so fun!
They also had another swing in one of the trees. Caitlyn and Jonah loved swinging high on this, Wyatt wasn't so sure about it.
Hallee had fun throwing rocks in the water. I kept telling her not to get to close to the water and she would respond, "I won't fall mom." I love how kids just think if they say something then it is true.
There was also some good climbing trees. Jonah had fun climbing as high as I would let him.
This picture captures what a perfect night it was. It was a little crazy to keep track of the four kids and the dog while taking pictures, but it was so much fun. We will definitely be going back here a lot. I was nervous about Keith being gone for a few days, but it has gone really well. I had a good balance of some easy outings and being home. I know myself and how easily I get stressed out so I kept it really simple!
Today Mel brought Amarie over to spend the night. The kids all wanted to go to the school to play so we spent the afternoon there. The kid's school has two play grounds and there is a park right next to the school so they like to go between all three of them. The weather was perfect today and there were a ton of kids at the park. One of Wyatt's friends from the neighborhood was there, so Wyatt ran off and played with him and Jonah found a friend from his class there so they played basketball and soccer together. It was so great. I really do like where we live! Caitlyn and Amarie played on the swings forever while I played with Hallee. We ended up staying later than I was planning since everyone was having so much fun. I decided to bag making dinner and we went to Wendy's instead. I loved not cooking or cleaning up after the kids! It was another fun night. Now I'm staying up late waiting for Keith to get home!

The parkway does look like a lot of fun! How nice to have it close by and to be able to get outside and get exercise while enjoying the beauty. Great pictures!
