I have been looking forward to Hope of America since last year. I LOVE this program. This year we knew what to expect and we were much better prepared. I love that I know the back roads to get to the Marriot Center now so we didn't get stuck in traffic this year. Look at these good looking kids!
We got there early so we could get a good seat and see the preshow. The preshow was fun. The kids loved the UVU green man group. We also loved the Golden Girls, grandmas and great-grandmas who were dancing and singing. We were all impressed when an 84-year-old woman did the splits!
We were able to get a seat across from the kids this year. I love looking at the flag they make with their shirts, it looks amazing!
Patriotic songs always make me cry, but the song they sing for the military, is a real tear jerker. While they sing, they have a slide show of military and their families. It really helps you realize how much they sacrifice to protect our country and keep us free.
While they sing all of the kids have a flag and wave it and all of the yellow shirts line up and they all point their flags to the area where the military members are supposed to sit. It is so touching!
We all loved the show, but Hallee got a little cranky during parts. Especially when she dropped her fidget spinner and we couldn't find all of the parts. Is it bad that I think her pouty face is funny?!
Wyatt is the cutest kid. I'm still in awe about how much he has grown and matured over the last year. During the "America Rocks" song Wyatt wrote America Rocks on his boogie board and held it up, it was really cute.
They end the night with a song about being a light in the world. It is another tear jerker. It is such a great message. I love all of the wonderful things this program teaches the kids. They turn out the lights and all of the kids have a flashlight. It is the perfect end to a wonderful program! It is one of my favorite nights of the year.
