Seaside

Thursday was a rainy day so we hung out in the hotel all morning.  I was hoping to rent some bikes or some kayaks while we were in Seaside, but we found out that they hadn't opened for their summer season. 

We drove around for a while and debated on what to do.  After a late lunch we went to the beach.  The rain had finally stopped so we decided to take advantage of it.

Jonah had fun writing in the sand with a stick.

The kids all had fun exploring and looking for shells.

We found a lot of sand dollars on the beach.

Wyatt was thrilled when Keith found him a perfect sand dollar.

The kids had a huge pile of shells and sand dollars and we had to limit them on what they could take back to the hotel.

Caitlyn and I found cute sweatshirts in the shops.

Caitlyn started playing in the ocean and I told her not to go all the way in since it was so cold.  She lasted about three minutes before she was all the way in the water.

Jonah joined Caitlyn and they had a blast in the water.

Jonah kept asking me to come in with him.

I gave Keith my sweatshirt and my phone and joined the kids in the water.  It was freezing, but we sure had fun.  Jonah kept saying, "this is fun, huh mom?"

Jonah and I didn't get as wet as Caitlyn and Caitlyn probably shouldn't have worn a white shirt! It was fun to laugh and play with my kids!

After that the kids wanted to go swimming in the hotel.  The pool was freezing, so I opted for the hot tub.

We ordered some food from the café in the hotel and spent the night watching the NBA finals.  After the game we packed up the car so we would be ready to drive home the next day.  We had a great vacation, but we were ready to get home and sleep in our own beds!
