Wyatt has been working on his baptism book that the stake gave him. He is so excited to be baptized. Wyatt has always been a pretty spiritual kid, but I have really seen a change in him over the past six months. He has been reading his scriptures on his own and has had a desire to learn and study more.
Katelyn Serr invited Caitlyn to the 4th of July parade in Provo. They haven't seen each other for over a year, so they were both excited. Katelyn came over here after and we took her back home when we went to my mom's. It was fun to see her.
Yesterday Caitlyn and Jonah wanted to bike over to the river trail and then take that down to Utah Lake. I was surprised that they wanted to, but they were excited. I'm sure it was close to six miles.
They called me when they got there and sent me these cute pictures.
I love seeing the kids getting along. The kids have been fighting a lot this summer, so I was excited that they wanted to do something together.
They came home hot and tired, but very happy.
I walked this morning during Jonah's soccer practice and it felt cool. It has been so hot, like miserable hot so when it felt cool this morning I got really excited. I wanted to spend some time with the kids today so I thought it might be a fun day for a hike. This summer has been so busy, it has been so much fun to spend time with family and friends, but I haven't had much time with just the kids. Jonah told us that Rock Canyon was shaded. Unfortunately, Jonah was wrong and it was crazy hot and Wyatt was ready to be done right after we got out of the car.
There were a few pockets of shade, but that was it. Jonah wanted to get to this spot where he went with the scouts. He wanted to show us how high he could climb.
Caitlyn thought it looked fun, so she joined Jonah.
Hallee brought her phone (Caitlyn's old phone) and took lots of pictures.
There was a lot of complaining at first, but by the end we were all having a good time.
We stopped and looked at bugs, lizards and chipmunks. I try to make it fun for the kids by letting them stop and look at things and not rush them along. We were all hot and tired, but it was fun to have the kids all to myself for a day.
