I used to get so excited for Christmas when I was a kid, sometimes I would get so excited I would make myself sick. As fun as Christmas was as a kid, it is so much more fun as a mom. I love having an excuse to buy my family presents that I know they are going to love. I stayed on top of the shopping (I did have a little scrambling at the end) and wrapping so we just had to set out the presents on Christmas Eve.
I told Hallee she couldn't wake us up before 7:00 AM, so she was in my room at 7 o'clock on the dot. She watched a show until Wyatt came in at 7:30 AM and then I told them we could wake everyone up. Caitlyn and Jonah were sound asleep. The funny thing is that Caitlyn was so excited on Christmas Eve that she woke up at 6:15 AM.
Hallee couldn't believe that Santa knew she wanted a squash mallow even though she didn't ask for one. She also got a watch (a hand clock watch is what she kept calling it) in her stocking, which is what she really wanted from Santa.
Caitlyn and Hallee got so excited about everything they pulled out of their stocking.
Poor Jonah wasn't feeling good. About once a year he gets a fever for a few days and this year it landed on Christmas. He was wrapped up in his blanket until the ibuprofen kicked in and then he was hot!
The kids must have been good because Santa brought them just what the wanted. Jonah got a jacket, Wyatt got a pull up bar, Caitlyn got a blanket sweatshirt and Hallee got her squash mallow and hand clock watch.
The kids were very generous this year. They all bought presents for Keith and I. Wyatt gave Keith a cell phone holder for his car and he gave me socks and a hands free phone holder. That will be great because I read books on my kindle app on my phone. Wyatt decided he wanted to buy a present for everyone and he wrapped them all himself and couldn't wait to put them under the tree.
Hallee bought us our favorite treats!
Caitlyn and Jonah bought Keith wireless ear buds.
Caitlyn gave me a bath set and Jonah gave me a pop socket and connector for my car. I loved seeing the kids come up with ideas and want to spend their own money on others.
Caitlyn really wanted this journal edition of the Book of Mormon. It will be great as we start studying the Book of Mormon next year.
Wyatt is obsessed with rubiks cubes, so he was thrilled with this set of eight different ones.
Hallee wanted some fake glasses, she sure looks cute!
Jonah and Wyatt were shocked to open a new play station 4. Jonah has wanted one for a while, but he has never asked because he thought they were too expensive.
They are so excited to finally have a current game console!
Caitlyn thought we were joking when she opened a present and found a lap top inside.
We reassured it her that it wasn't a joke and she was so excited! Keith just cleaned out the storage room at his office and found this lap top that they weren't using anymore so they said he could have it. He also got some nice desk chairs. Caitlyn is thrilled with her desk (from Tiff and Paul), her chair and now she has a computer (with very strict rules about having it in her room) to go with it.
We have a bunch of old tablets laying around so we reset one and gave it to Hallee. She is thrilled and can't wait to use it in the car on our long drive to Arizona.
They boys were very happy with their new games to go along with the PS4.
I went a little crazy on presents for Keith this year. My present is my trip to New York and I feel so spoiled with that, so I wanted to make sure he felt spoiled too. I debated because he has never mentioned it, but I thought he would like a ring doorbell. I got the echo show to go along with it. While we were visiting at my parents on Christmas Eve Mel and Earl were talking about theirs and Keith said he would really like one. Perfect!
Keith loves all things technology so he is always thrilled with new gadgets.
Apparently Hallee wanted to give him a hug while he opened presents.
I think operation spoil Keith was a success, he was very surprised and happy with all of his gifts.
I bought an extra dog when I bought Tessa one for her birthday because I knew Hallee would love it too.
Caitlyn was happy with her new make up set.
Hallee hugged all of her presents after she opened them.
Wyatt was excited about Lego Marvel
I was finished shopping for Caitlyn when I found this Fur Mama shirt, but I couldn't pass that up!
Jonah got lots of new clothes. He has gone through a growth spurt so he needed bigger clothes. Just shorts and short sleeve shirts though, because that is all that he will wear-year round.
Hallee was excited about her lite brite.
Wyatt loves his new unspeakable (he is a you-tuber) shirt, he put it on as soon as he opened it. Wyatt doesn't like to play games because he feels mean if he tries to win, so I thought a single player game would be good for him!
We also surprised Wyatt with a penny board, we thought that would be fun to take to Arizona.
More clothes for Jonah.
Another hug for Hallee's present. This is a drone, unfortunately it got caught in Hallee's hair and scraped her arm. She said she will only use it if her hair is pulled up!
It is crazy how much time I spend shopping and wrapping presents and how quickly they are unwrapped! I'm so grateful for online shopping, I really don't know how we survived without it. Christmas morning was definitely a success.
After we opened some of the kids things I made eggs benedict for breakfast and then we all relaxed downstairs while the kids played with their new things. Caitlyn was so excited that she got stickers in her stocking and loved putting them on her computer and water bottle.
Gary and Julie had us for the gift exchange. We love all the treats and games!
We went to my mom's for Christmas dinner. It was a great way to end a wonderful Christmas. We are so blessed and grateful for the birth, life and death of our Savior Jesus Christ! He makes everything possible and everything worth it!
