One of our favorite traditions is having the kids draw names and having a special night where they exchange gifts. Before we opened presents we watched the new Nativity movie and talked about why we are grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ. After we read the story about the Christmas oranges and talked about the joy of giving.
They each earn/spend their own money to pick out something special for the person they have. We really try to focus on giving and thinking about others. I love that they are more excited to give their gift than get one.
We went youngest to oldest. Caitlyn picked out a whiteboard calendar with markers and a cork board for Hallee. Hallee loves to write on our calendar and know what is going on the next day, so Caitlyn knew she would love it and she did!
Hallee was so excited to give Wyatt her present.
She picked out Fortnite socks and a Minecraft shirt for Wyatt. He loved them.
Wyatt was really excited for Jonah to open his present. This is what he does when he is excited, he bites his hand.
Jonah loved the wireless headphones that Wyatt picked out for him.
Jonah put some weights in the box so Caitlyn wouldn't be able to figure out what it was.
Jonah knew Caitlyn wanted wireless headphones so he got her some. She was thrilled!
After presents we played Bingo and Mad Gab. It was the perfect afternoon.

This is a great tradition. Love it.
So wonderful to focus on giving instead of getting and to have your children be so excited about it! Beautiful tradition!
