Sally: Thursday to Tuesday

Last week Jonah got in a car accident, luckily no one was hurt.  Our emotions have been all over the place, but we all got a good laugh when his friend Oliver texted him and said, "I'm going to go put flowers by the cars grave and write, "Sally: Thursday to Tuesday."  It is really sad that he only got to drive the car for five days, but I have to admit that was pretty funny and if we don't laugh, we cry!
Jonah was coming back from Walmart and he was on 1680 N waiting to turn left onto Geneva Rd.  He looked and thought the driver coming northbound had her right turn signal on so he looked the other way and had an opening so he went.  The car did not turn right and she hit Jonah's car.  She said she didn't have her turn signal on.  Jonah felt terrible.
The damage was on the front of the girls car.  Thank goodness she wasn't hurt, but she was really shaken up.  Poor girl, that's so scary.
Thankfully Jonah got hit on the back side of the car instead of straight on.  He had Kyle in the car, but he was in the front seat.  I'm so grateful no one was in that back seat.  Kyle said he was fine.  Jonah's side airbag came out and he thinks that dislocated his shoulder.  He kept holding his shoulder and rubbing it and all of the sudden he heard a pop and said it felt better. He thinks he put it back in it's socket.
This is how Jonah and Kyle ended up.  This is across Geneva road, they spun around and landed right next to the power line and the back end was in a ditch.
Jonah called me and I knew immediately it wasn't good news.  Poor guy, he was scared and really shaken up.  I was at Walmart with Hallee so we hurried out and went over there.  They called Kyle's dad and he came over there and stayed until I got there.  Ben was really calm and helped calm all of us down.  We waited for the police to come.  They were really nice and just took everyone's statement.  Their system was down so they said they would send each drivers information to us that night.  Jonah has been nervously waiting to see if he is going to get a ticket for the accident or for having a friend in the car.  So far we haven't heard anything.
The police officers called tow trucks and they towed the cars off.  It was so sad to see the car go.  Ben and I kept telling Kyle and Jonah how lucky they were and that it could have been so much worse. I am so grateful that everyone is okay.  I went over to the tow yard the next day to get stuff out of the car, it was really sad to see the car and think about how much worse it could have been.  The insurance totaled the car.  They are giving us a lot more than we thought they would.  He said they look at the market and see how much it would cost to replace the car and include license and registration in the pay out.  I'm very grateful for that and I hope they also took good care of the other driver.  Erin was so nice and texted that night to check on Jonah and tell me they loved us and him. That was so nice because we both felt pretty bad about Kyle being in the accident with him.  Poor Jonah, he is so sad about losing the car and his freedom.  We are in limbo right now while we wait for the check and make sure he doesn't have a ticket for having a friend in the car.
