On Monday we gave the kids two choices, we could go back to Zions or we could go to St. George and go to the temple open house and then to Pioneer Park, where they could climb and explore. They voted for St. George.
The temple was beautiful and we enjoyed going through it.
Hallee is very excited to be able to go to the temple in January and is very interested in the temple so she loves going to open houses.
I love the palm trees outside the temple.
After the temple we grabbed some lunch and then headed over to Pioneer park. A few years ago I came here with Tiff, Katie and Audrey on a girls trip. I remembered thinking how much my kids would love it so I was excited to take them there. It is just a ton of red rock that you can climb on and explore. They have a hiking trail, but the kids just wanted to climb and explore.
They jumped right out of the car and took off.
You can see Wyatt on the top of the rock above Hallee.
I climbed up with the kids. Keith got a picture of us from below.
You have a great view of the valley from the top.
The kids thought this hole in the rock was cool.
The never ending red rock is so pretty.
There were so many rocks to climb and explore.
This one looked like a mini arches.
The kids and I explored for a while until we were ready to go down and get some water.
We saw a sign that said "Narrows" that we wanted to check out.
There was a short hike up through these narrows. The kids went half way and then came back. Hallee was nervous with just how narrow it was. They decided to try again and they were so proud of themselves that they made it through!
Keith and I watched them go. It definitely looked to narrow for me!
They had some other places to climb inside the narrow area. You can see Wyatt's head at the top of the second picture. He loved climbing all the way out of the cave.
Keith and I were happy to sit in here and watch the kids climb. It was hot, so staying in the shade of the narrows felt great.
After that we headed back to Cedar City to get cleaned up and meet up with Caitlyn. Wyatt liked seeing where Caitlyn lives and they both liked seeing Caitlyn's fish.
Grace texted Caitlyn that day and asked if they could meet up because she was getting a tour of SUU that day.
I called Allison and we made plans to meet up for dinner. They came to see Caitlyn's apartment before we went to dinner. After that we went to Cafe Rio and enjoyed visiting with them for a while before they headed back to Salt Lake. It was so fun to have that time with them. Caitlyn and Grace don't see each other a lot, but they have stayed friends over the years and always have fun together. Allison and I love to meet up for lunch or dinner and always have so much to talk about. It would be so fun if Grace went to SUU next year!

I was surprised to hear that Hallee will be able to go to the temple in January but I shouldn't have been since I know that when they're 11 they can go at the beginning of the next year. That's exciting for her! We need to do another baptism trip like we did in Las Vegas and Gilbert over the summer. I'm sure the St. George Temple is beautiful just like they all are!
