Life lately

We loved having time with the family while they were here for Jonah's farewell.

We are in baby heaven when Mel's family is around.  Wesley is so sweet and tiny.  

I got to hold Judah for a while.  He is just so cute!

We celebrated Keith's birthday with my family.

It was so nice for Keith and I to have the day off work on his birthday.

We had a lot to do and we wanted as much family time as possible.

Hallee got Keith new slippers for his birthday.

Keith has been interviewing and waiting for a job at Tesla since the end of May.  The first two interviews and responses went quickly, but after that they moved so slow.  We were always waiting.  We had almost given up and when we came out of the Payson temple with Jonah there was an email waiting for Keith to schedule the next interview.  We were so excited.  Whenever he gets good news Keith's comes into the house playing music and dancing.  Hallee and Wyatt knew exactly what that meant when they heard the music.  We have all been fasting and praying for this job. Our family and friends have been fasting and praying for this job.  Keith hates his job at Sunrun and this job at Tesla would get him back on track with his career and it will be what he enjoys doing. 

We finally heard back on Friday that Keith got the job!  We are so grateful and so excited.  These last 18 months have been so hard with nine months of unemployment and nine months of underemployment. Keith's confidence has taken a beating.  It's so hard to watch because he is amazing at what he does and any company would be lucky to have him. We have also been so blessed though.  Family and friends have been so generous.  It's so hard to need and accept help, but it also makes you feel so loved.  I'm blown away with how generous my family has been and how much they care and love us.  I have never felt more loved by them or my Heavenly Father.

Keith has had some hard days at work lately.  Sunrun is not a great company and he takes really hard calls all day.  Our emotions were up and down as we waited and hoped for this job.  On a bad day I took Keith to In-N-Out after work with a gift card Brie gave me for my birthday.  Sometimes you just need to get out and eat good food!

After we took Jonah to the airport Caitlyn and I went to visit my mom. 

It was a very hard visit.  Caitlyn brought a book that my mom used to read to her, but it made them both too sad so she stopped reading it.  Mom was not doing well and cried a lot that day.

It was a very emotional day for me.  It was so hard to say goodbye to Jonah and then I wondered if I was saying goodbye to my mom too.  

Luckily Matt can always make us smile!  After mom fell asleep Caitlyn and I left and she went shopping with Elena. 

I got some time to visit with Matt and then we all went back to my mom's to move her bed out so they could move a hospital bed in her room.

We got mom all set up in her room and fed her dinner and then we left when she went to sleep.

We went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant.  I was so hungry and so mentally exhausted. The food tasted great and it was nice to have some time to visit with Matt and Lori before they left the next day.

I took my mom's bed home.  I thought it would be perfect in Jonah's room because his bed is not comfortable, but Wyatt is too attached and sentimental about Jonah's bed to get rid of it.  So I put it in our extra room downstairs.  I sleep down there.  I fall asleep upstairs, but when I wake up I can't get back to sleep so I go downstairs.  The bed that was in there was not comfortable, so this has been really nice.  I mostly like it though because now it's my special mom room.  Mom made me this quilt out of my soccer uniforms for my first apartment.  I love it so much and now it's even more special.  

Jonah has been using my quilt, but now I want to keep it for myself. Wyatt had such a hard time with Jonah leaving. He just laid in Jonah's bed and cried for hours. 

He's doing better now, but he sure misses him.  Jackson has started sleeping with Wyatt every night.

We moved Wyatt down into Jonah's room.  The kids all hang out in there a lot.  It's so fun to hear them laughing together in there.  They all miss Jonah and I think hanging out in his room helps them.

When I got back from the long weekend of saying goodbye to Jonah, this was waiting on my desk from Brie.  It says, "If you're reading this it means you survived last week and congratulations are in order! I'm very proud of you and you should be proud of yourself." I love Brie, she makes my job so fun!

Keith got Juneteenth off.  He took Hallee to run some errands they went around and got Keith's free birthday treats. 

Keith took the kids swimming.  They were so excited that Rockwell and Tessa could join them.

Hallee has been dying to go swimming at the rec center so I'm so glad she got to go.

Another day Tiff came and picked up Hallee and brought her over to her house.  I appreciate that so much.  I worry about the kids home during the summer while I'm working.  Hallee had a great time with Tessa. 

Brie and Mel decorated my desk for my birthday. Karrie brought me flowers and a gift and Brie gave me gifts and they both wrote me the nicest cards.  I'm so lucky to work with such amazing people. I love them!

Mel and I went to Rachel's baby shower.  I'm so happy for her.  It was great to visit with her and Deena.

Katie invited us over for swimming and a barbecue on my birthday weekend. She is always so thoughtful and had a cheesecake for me. 

Tiff and Paul came too and the kids had a blast swimming.

It has been so hot, but that day was a random cool day, so us adults just sat out and visited while the kids swam.

The kids wrote me sweet cards for my birthday.

They made my birthday really special.

And having Jonah call that day was the icing on the cake of a great birthday!

Caitlyn and I went and watched Sawyer's end of the year performance. She is such a great dancer. 

Jonah felt so bad that he was missing it and was glad we were going to support her. He sent us with a card and Lego flowers for her. He told her that he wanted to get her flowers that would last during his whole mission. 

The girls were in matching black dresses last week and they looked so pretty!

Wyatt finally got his braces off!  He is so happy and looks so good.
