Time with Family

Wendy wanted to come visit mom.  She was only here for one day and it was on Hallee's birthday so I couldn't spend as much time with her as I would have liked.

Mel, dad and I met Shelley and Wendy over at mom's on Saturday.

Dad showed us the new shirts he bought mom.  Her stuff always disappears and he does a great job of taking care of mom and making sure she has everything she needs.  We thought it was cute that he got her a Strawberry Shortcake shirt and a Care Bear shirt.

Mom was sound asleep for the first hour that we were there. I'm surprised our loud laughing and talking didn't wake her up.

Mom can't communicate much at all anymore, but she did smile and laugh some.

I'm sure it was hard for Wendy, but she was really glad she came.  I love to spend time with mom's family and talk about the good old days and how much we all love mom.

 

Hallee was so excited to have Tessa home from their vacation.  I was off on Friday so I went and picked Tessa up and they spent the day together. Hallee was so happy, she kept telling me that she was having Tessa withdrawals!  Caitlyn was off work that day so she took the girls to the mall to get shakes.  They love Caitlyn!

Me and Tiff went to visit mom that day.  Caitlyn, grandpa and Mel came too.

We fed mom her dinner and visited.  Hopefully it is enjoyable for mom to have us there, I think it is.

Earlier that week Mel and I visited mom.  We called Matt.  He made mom laugh. 

When we visited mom while Wendy was here I had this heaviness in my chest and mom seemed to be really bad off.  I was sure that mom would go last week, which is why Mel and I went back on Monday.  Mom seemed much better on Monday.  She ate her dinner and laughed along with us.  It's such a roller coaster of emotions.  I do not want to lose my mom, but I absolutely hate watching her suffer and thinking of her just sitting there alone all day.  Luckily she sleeps a lot and we all visit a lot, but this is just heartbreaking.  

Keith went to the barn with Caitlyn one day and sent me this.  She just loves those horses!  She has had people from work bring their kids to feed the horses.  She loves it so much.

Hallee and Tessa were thrilled that they got to hang out all day Saturday too.  They planned to wear the same pants and blue shirts.

We went up to Salt Lake for Chelsey's baby shower.   I won the Bingo prize!

It was so fun to visit with my nieces.  Ofa was with the girls while we ate and then Tessa and Hallee told her she should go out with the grown ups and they would play with the girls. 

It was fun to watch Chelsey open her gifts.  Isaiah is already so loved!   Elijah and Chelsey will be the best parents.

I could watch Clara and Zariyah all day, they are so cute.  When we were leaving we ran into EJ and Elijah. It was great to talk to them and see Judah.  I love spending time with Mel's family and seeing her family grow with all of these cute kids!

After the shower we went over to Mom's for a bit. 

We brought her a cake pop from the shower and she seemed to enjoy that.

It's hard for the grandkids because they want to see grandma, but also it's not really grandma and it makes them sad.  Hallee decided she wanted to go see her again.

She was nonresponsive through most of our visit, but I did get her to laugh a few times when I burped.

It's always so hard to leave.  I just want to scoop her up and bring her home.
