I had a wonderful mother's day. Keith and the boys surprised me with a clean house while I was in Caitlyn's class on Friday. That was my favorite gift. I'm so tired lately that not having to clean was exactly what I wanted! Keith made me breakfast and the kids gave me lots of cute notes and little presents. Keith has given me a few presents over the past few months. He surprised me with a kindle fire and I told him I wanted this dress I was wearing for mothers day.
I'm so grateful to be a mother. I love these kids so much. I know I make a lot of mistakes as a mother and sometimes I wonder if my kids are going to make it out okay and then one of them will do something so sweet and I think they might have a chance after all!
I'm so grateful for my family. I love when we can all be home together. I am very protective of our family time. We have to make it top priority with Keith being so busy. I love spending time together and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Last Saturday Jonah's team played a really tough team. Jonah ended up making the only goal for his team. He was so excited when he scored. I wish I could have captured the huge smile on his face, but for once I didn't even try, I just enjoyed the moment.
Caitlyn had her first grade program this week. They did such a great job. Caitlyn (always the poser) looked adorable and sang her little heart out.
All of the songs were so cute. One of the songs they sang was "I'm proud to be an American" which always makes me cry, especially when kids are singing it.
I love how she kept a smile on her face while she was singing. I will never forget her pre-school Christmas concert where she scowled through the whole thing. She has come a long way and now she is quite the performer.
We checked Caitlyn out of school early (much to her disappointment) after the concert and went and got slurpees. I have had a sore throat this week so a slurpee sounded great. I shared mine with Wyatt and he was pretty happy about it. I can't believe that we are down to the last couple weeks of school. I am amazed at what Caitlyn has learned this year. We love her teacher. She has helped Caitlyn in so many ways. She has helped Caitlyn with her self-confidence among many other things. We sent her teacher a gift card and a letter thanking her during teacher appreciation week. She sent us the nicest letter back saying that "kids like Caitlyn are why she loves teaching." Every parent loves hearing that. She has sure set the standard high, I hope Caitlyn's second grade teacher can measure up!
