Soccer!

It is soccer season again and Jonah is thrilled.  He is with the 5 and 6-year-olds this year so the games have been a lot tougher than last year.
This is pretty much the normal scene for little kids playing soccer, all of them in a huge bunch around the ball.  Jonah really stood out last year because most of the kids were pretty young and were more interested in playing with the grass than playing soccer, so if you had any ball handling skills you looked like a star.  This year all the kids have been pretty aggressive.
I was worried Jonah would be intimidated, but he has done a pretty good job of being aggressive and not being mad that he hasn't scored any goals.  Jonah is very competitive so not being the star is really hard for him.  It is also very good for him. I've been really happy to see him play hard and not be concerned with just scoring goals.
This year they have goalies, which also makes it harder to get goals.  He played goalie for a few minutes on Saturday.  I don't think goalie is really his thing and it was driving me nuts because instead of charging for the ball he was sitting back in the net waiting for them to shoot.  He didn't let anyone score though, so that was good.
Keith is coaching Jonah's team again and he is doing a great job.  Their team has done well and has quite a few good players.
Caitlyn loves having her grandmas and grandpas there to play with during the games.
She loved having grandpa chase her and tickle her.
Grandma got in on the fun too.  Caitlyn spent this week playing the animal guessing game with grandpa Loosli.  Wyatt spent the whole second half crying (more like screaming) because he wanted Keith.  That was fun!
Jonah also got to go on a grandma date last week.  We had to postpone it a couple of weeks ago when the flu was going through our family.  I found Jonah in his closet crying after I told him that I told grandma that it wouldn't work that day.  Poor kid, he was so excited for it.  This week made up for it.  He said grandma bought him "the hugest ice cream cone ever" and they went to the park and played baseball.  Jonah told me he hit 36 home runs.  I love my strong, confident Jonah!

He is cute playing soccer. Soccer games are so hard for younger kids, but it is awesome to watch them play and do so well too. He is such a cutie!
