Big Spring Hallow

I wanted to go on a hike today so I found one in Provo Canyon that we could do.  The kids didn't complain, but I don't think they were thrilled about it either.
I loved seeing Hallee and Caitlyn holding hands on the trail.
I love the mountains, they are so beautiful.
I wanted to go fast and keep moving, but I realized if I want to make hiking enjoyable for the kids I better slow down and let them enjoy the journey.  We went off the trail over by the water for a little bit.  The boys found a great rock to sit on while they ate their snacks.
I'm paranoid about the river this year so I wouldn't let the kids get too close.  The water is so high and it moves so fast!
The kids did a great job, there was very little complaining.  Wyatt wasn't a big fan at first, but he came around.  It was a pretty hot day for hiking so we sure appreciated the shady parts.
I'm so glad it is summer vacation!  I love having no schedule and being able to just pick up and go like we did today.
Jonah and Caitlyn carried Hallee a few times. They love to spoil her.
We did two miles today.  I told them we are going to keep finding hikes and see how far we can go by the end of the summer!  They all seemed a lot more exited about that idea when we stopped for drinks on the way home.

Good job getting your family hiking and it looked like a beautiful hike! I loved the picture of Caitlyn and Hallee holding hands and Jonah carrying Hallee. I'm so glad you kept them away from the water! It is just plain scary this year!
