Sidewalk of Fire

We were all excited for Sidewalk of Fire this year.  Mel, EJ and Amarie joined us this year. It was so fun to sit by EJ during the firework show and hear him oohh and aahh at all of the fireworks.  His excitement was contagious. 

Jonah had fun going around with his friends.  He was so excited for the eating contest. He was sure he was going to win this year, but no luck!

Brek was excited to see Wyatt.  They had fun together for a while.  

They wanted their picture with the minions.

Hallee wanted her picture with Batman, but didn't want to get to close to him.

Lily and Rachel hung out with us for a while  The kids loved Rachel's new kitten.

Caitlyn signed up to help with the face painting.  She felt like she didn't do a good job and was discouraged after, I'm sure it was better than she thought.

Keith held the kid's place in line almost the entire time so they could get their faces painted.  Hallee loved her kitty cat.

They scaled the event back a little bit this year.  They didn't have the carnival games and they started later.  I also think the fire work show was shorter than it has been.  It was still a great event and I can totally understand why they would scale it back, I can't believe people are willing to do all of that planning and work.  It was a fun night and a great way to kick off the 4th of July.
