Mazatlan

Tuesday we were in Mazatlan.  We didn't have any plans, we were just going to go and check things out.  We were slow getting ready in the morning so we told the group to go ahead without us.  The kids were disappointed that we weren't with cousins, but it was nice to have some family time. 

There were a ton of people trying to sell us stuff again.  We had a bunch of people offering us taxis.  We hadn't decided what we were going to do, but while they were talking we realized how hot it was and the air conditioned taxi won us over!  He charged us $40 to take us downtown to the shops and wait while we shopped and then drive us around the coast to show us the sights.  The kids didn't want to drive along the coast, but I really wanted to see it and I'm really glad we did.  I think they enjoyed it too, they were just anxious to get back to the boat and back to cousins. 

He dropped us off near this church.  It was beautiful, my only regret from that day was that we didn't go inside.  The market wasn't far from where he dropped us off.  We passed a lot of people begging on our walk to the market.  It was hard for the kids to see children and elderly people begging, especially Caitlyn.  Cailtyn is so empathetic and has such a hard time seeing other people suffering.  I think we all have a new appreciation for our wonderful country!

I didn't get any pictures in the market, but we had fun looking at everything.  I think we found some of our favorite souvenirs that day.   It was so hot though!  

After we shopped a little we went back to the taxi. We were so excited for the air conditioning.  He drove us around the coast and stopped at different places and took our picture.  It was beautiful!

Our driver was really nice and didn't rush us at all, the kids took care of that!  It was nice to get enjoy the view and get a few pictures before moving on to the next stop.

The kids didn't get as excited about the views as I did, but I think they enjoyed it.

Caitlyn enjoys pictures almost as much as I do. It's nice that she is always happy to take pictures.

We drove up some really steep hills to get a good view of the city.

He pulled over so I could get a picture, but I still couldn't capture it.  It was fun to be able to look out over the whole city.

After we drove back down the hills we made one more stop, White Rock. It was another beautiful view.

After this stop we went back to the boat.  I'm glad we got out and saw the city, but after a few hours we were all hot and ready to get back to the boat.  It was another great day!
