We were all so excited to go to Arizona for New Years. We haven't been at this time a year for a couple of years and we didn't go last summer, so we were all dying to go. We drove up there on December 27th. We picked a terrible day to travel. I thought I checked the weather, but I must have checked it too early because we had terrible weather. We had bad snow until St. George. Hallee and Caitlyn wanted to sit in the back, which was not a great plan because Hallee got car sick right before we hit St. George. Cailtyn was so good with her while Keith and I worked together to clean it up. After we stopped at Walmart for a new booster seat we were back on the road again. When we got to Arizona they were having terrible rain storms. We almost pulled off to wait it out, but Keith decided to keep going and it stopped for our last couple of hours. It ended up taking us 12 1/2 hours to get there. Our drive home was a dream, no problems and we were home in 10 1/2 hours. Keith is amazing and drove the whole way both ways.
We were all so happy to finally be there! Wyatt loved staying in the room with the bunk bed. He loved this bed and said he slept better in this bed than he has ever slept.
He also loved their exercise room. He worked out on the rowing machine a lot.
Keith helped Wyatt lift weights a few times. Hallee liked exercising in there too.
I always love to see what Elena and Caitlyn will do together. It usually involves crafts. baking, shopping and make-up.
Elena got a gel nail set for Christmas and was nice enough to do all of our nails.
I love my nails. I wish I lived close enough to pay Elena to do them all of the time.
Cody and Jonah played a lot of video games! They both get so into Fortnite and they are jumping up and down and yelling while they play.
Hallee had fun playing with toys. Keith is always so good at sitting down and playing with her.
Matt and Lori bought a Ham leg and we ate the second half with them. I guess this is very common in Spain and Matt was excited to find out they could buy one at Costco. Wyatt loved helping Matt get the pieces off that he cut.
On Saturday Lori and I took the girls shopping. I found some NBA pants that I thought Jonah would like so I bought them. He tried them on and they were a little small so we decided we should get the next size up. I asked Keith if he wanted to take the girls and run back to Ross. After about an hour Keith called and said they had already gone to two Ross's and wanted to know which one we had been to. I told him not to worry about it, but they ran to the last store and found the right size. Poor Keith, I had no idea it would be such a pain. I told Jonah to try them on so I could wash them. He said the legs felt weird and one was longer than the other. Keith told him he better love and wear the pants, Ha! None of us were convinced so we told him to take the pants off and we would compare. Sure enough one leg was a lot shorter than the other. Keith said he was not returning them! I returned them another day, but we all had a good laugh about the whole situation.
Sunday was nice. The YM/YW were subbing in the primary classes because it was the 5th Sunday. Cody was teaching Wyatt's class, so that worked out perfect. Cody and Jonah wanted to play video games on Sunday so we told them that they could if they taught us a lesson first. Cody did most of it and he did a great job.
It was nice to relax, visit and nap on Sunday.
We also played games a lot while we were there. Caitlyn got Codenames for Christmas and we took it up there. We all loved playing that game. One night me, Elena, Lori and Caitlyn were playing and we were laughing so hard. Matt and Keith weren't sure what was so funny. After the kids went to bed the adults played and then Matt and Keith realized why the game can be so funny sometimes.
On Monday Lori and I got pedicures and went to lunch. I love hanging out with Lori. She is so fun to talk to and she is so wise.
Keith took all the kids to a movie on Monday. We didn't get out much on Saturday and Sunday so they were all ready to get out.
That night Lori made cookie dough and had a bunch of different toppings and let everyone make their own skookie.
Keith ran and grabbed some ice cream and they were so good!
Everyone loved making their cookie just they way they liked it.
Elena and Jonah used to be best buddies when they were little. I can't believe they are both so grown up.
