About a month ago I was put into Young Women's. I was excited and scared. I loved Young Women's when I was young. I had the best leaders, they were so much fun. I'm hoping I can be one of those fun leaders! We had girls camp last week. I wanted to go and was terrified to go at the same time. I finally decided to go for half of it. Keith had taken work off the week before while my family was here and Gary and Julie's kids were still here, so I went for the last half of camp.
We had 10 girls that went. It was really fun getting to know the girls. They were all really great. Some of them are so funny, we laughed a lot. I drove up first thing Thursday morning. Keith took two days off of work to be home with the kids. I was really happy about that because I didn't think I would have phone service up there so I was glad to know the kids were home with dad. I didn't take any pictures at camp, so I will have to add more later when I got some copies. I knew I would be out of my comfort zone up there, but I had no idea how much! The first night we had to do skits. I was trying to be cooperative, but be in the background. The cooperative part worked, but not the background. I ended up being front and center as a prince the whole time and I had to sing a solo. Talk about being out of my comfort zone. I couldn't even do it while we were practicing, but I said a prayer and made it through the skit! It was a pretty funny skit. We were auditioning for the next Disney Princess and Hailey was Justin Bieber. She was hilarious! On Friday the bishop and his wife came up and Marni had a whole spiritual retreat day planned. I was a little worried about it because it was a lot of lessons, but it went well. I had to give a lesson on keeping the Sabbath day holy. I think it went pretty well and a few girls told me they really liked it so that made me feel good. Friday night was testimony meeting. It was wonderful. Testimony meeting is always the best part of camp, so I was glad I was there for that. I'm really glad I went. I got to know the other leaders and the girls more than I would any other way. By Saturday I was ready to come home though. I was so excited to get home and have all of the kids run out to hug me.
I was pretty tired on Saturday, so we had a family movie night. On Sunday after church the kids made a little salon in the downstairs bathroom and they were so excited for Keith and I to come to it. I got my nails and hair done and a massage!
The kids were all so cute about it. Caitlyn was the boss and everyone else had different jobs and got busy taking care of us. I love when the kids get so excited about things. It was great to enjoy the weekend with them after a crazy few weeks!
