We decided we wanted to do one last fun thing as a family before the kids start school tomorrow. Keith took a day off work and we went through a bunch of different ideas before we found a great deal on a Cabin up in Heber. We got this awesome two-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin for $58! It is perfect for our family, we like the outdoors, but we aren't the camping type!
I love how excited the kids get anytime we stay anywhere. They run around and act like it is the coolest place they have ever seen.
Our bedroom had a sliding glass door that opened up onto a covered deck. There are a ton of cabins lined up right next to each other. It can be a little awkward when everyone is outside, but it wasn't too bad.
The second bedroom had a bunk bed. Jonah and Wyatt ended up sleeping together on top and Caitlyn slept on the bottom. There is a kitchen in between the two bedrooms.
They made such good use of space in this cabin. There were drawers and closets all over the place. Hallee wanted to sleep in the closet in the kid's room. We finally talked her out of that. She ended up sleeping with Keith and I. It said we had a King size bed, but really it was just two twin beds pushed together. Hallee slept in the middle. It reminded me of when Tiff and I used to share a room and we would push our beds together and fight over who got to sleep in the crack. Hallee got to sleep in the crack last night! She was going to sleep on the floor, but it was all hardwood floors. I loved the hardwood floors because I hate the nasty carpet in hotels!
Jonah and Wyatt hung a flashlight in the closet so they could play Pokémon with the door shut.
Just behind our cabin was a stream. It was perfect for rock throwing.
It was fun to have the stream there, but also a little nerve racking. It was a very swift moving stream. The kids were pretty good at staying back. I kept thinking about the time my dad took us girls camping and Tiff fell in the water. Dad had to run down the stream and grab her out by the hood of her coat. Luckily she had the coat on. I'm happy to say that I didn't have to run down and pull anyone out of the water.
The kids loved throwing rocks. The older I get the more I love nature. I'm still not the camping type, but I love spending time outdoors where the kids can be completely entertained by nature.
These kids, they drive me crazy, but I love them more than I ever knew I could. I wish I could be more patient and relaxed with them. That is why I love getting out with them. There is nothing that can replace family time. It is so important for our little family. It is so great when we get away from the house and just enjoy being together.
I love extended family time and time with friends, but uninterrupted family time is so important. The kids have a blast together. They really love each other and enjoy spending time with each other, but sometimes they forget. Moments like these are priceless. Jonah is so sweet with younger kids, I love it.
Last night while we were walking back to our cabin I turned around and saw Keith and Caitlyn arm in arm deep in conversation. Love it!
Keith and I need time away to remember how much fun we are too!

Hallee got to sleep in the crack? Lucky! :) I'm glad you didn't have to chase any kids down the river. Can you imagine what Dad must have been feeling when his daughter fell in the river?!
I know that was traumatic for him and probably for Tiff! I am glad nobody had to be pulled out either. It looks like a great place and I'm glad you got to go and have that family time! Great pictures!
