Twin Falls

After we left Shoshone Falls we went to check out Dierkes Lake.  It wasn't far from where we were.  I had read about it and it looked fun.
There is a lake and a beach area.  There are places to jump off the rocks and a lot of people were on kayaks and paddle boards.  We were hoping we could rent one, but we couldn't.
I thought the kids might want to swim in the lake, but they just wanted to get to the hotel.  We walked over to the lake and after a while we realized that there was animal poop all over the ground, like literally everywhere. We had to watch every step and even then it was hard to avoid it.  Hallee wanted to play on the play ground so we went there, but once I saw poop in there I was done.  We all agreed that it was time to go.
We went and checked into our hotel and then we decided to go to Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner.  We were all hungry and excited to eat dinner.
On the way back to the hotel we stopped at the Perrine Bridge.  Lisa grew up in Twin Falls so I talked to her before she left and she told us about this.  It is a four lane highway/bridge over the Snake River.  They have walk-ways on both sides of the road.  If you look closely you can see people walking on the bridge.  We started walking on it and a big semi drove by and the whole thing shook, that was enough for Keith and the kids, they didn't want to walk on it anymore.
There was a place that you could walk down the stairs and look out over the Snake River, so we did that instead.
We walked under the bridge and came back up on the other side.
Jonah and I wanted to check out the Bridge so we walked along the highway while the other kids stayed with Keith.
 The view was beautiful!
After that we went back down the stairs and walked under the bridge back to our car.
Caitlyn wanted to stand on the wall and get a picture.  As you can imagine Keith didn't think that was a good idea.  On our way back I told her to hurry and get up there and I would snap a picture before Keith saw.
Jonah wanted one too. Keith saw us and had to look away because it made him so nervous.
After that we went back to the hotel.  The kids were dying to go into the exercise room.  They had fun trying out all of the machines for a while.
After that we went swimming.  There were only a few other people in there, which was nice.  I loved watching Keith chase the boys around in the pool.  The boys always gang up on him and try and take him down.
After we all showered we played games for a while before bed.  The next morning we ate breakfast in the hotel and then packed up and headed home.  I loved having this family time!  It was the perfect getaway for us!
